An enforcement notice has been issued for a farm in Bromham by Wiltshire Council - after complaints of unauthorised items being stored there.

The owner and occupiers of Wyatts Lake Farm are alleged to be keeping waste and residential caravans on the site.

The enforcement notice will take effect from March 25th, following a Wiltshire Council investigation.

It requires the import and storage of waste to stop within one month and the land to be cleared of waste and other stored items within 18 months.

The residential caravan use has to cease within six months.

Cllr Nick Botterill, Cabinet Member for Development Management and Strategic Planning, said: “Our officers have been trying to work with the owner and occupiers of Wyatts Lake Farm to ensure they comply with planning legislation and stop storing waste on their land and stop hosting unauthorised residential caravans.

“However, the owner and occupiers have chosen not to comply and so we have had no choice but to serve this Enforcement Notice to ensure that the owner meets their legal obligations. An Enforcement Notice is always a last resort, but in this case it is necessary to prevent this unauthorised land use.

“We are committed to tackling planning breaches such as this in Wiltshire and we will use all available legal powers to enforce planning regulations wherever they may occur.

“We will continue to work with all people involved in this matter to ensure compliance with this Enforcement Notice.”
