Salisbury District Hospital IS working to get back to providing its regular services following the peak of the COVID-19 outbreak.

  • Some non-emergency services have restarted
  • Clinicians are reviewing all waiting lists very carefully and are prioritise patients dependent on the state of their health
  • This means that those with the greatest need will be seen first

SLOW AND STEADY STEPS

Hospital bosses have said they're working to get back to 'normal', but it will take more time.

Judy Dyos, Salisbury Hospital's Director of Nursing, said:

"Anyone who was on a waiting list before the outbreak will still be on our waiting list unless we have contacted them to advise differently. However, it is likely that waiting times here will be longer than would normally be expected. When it's time to come for your appointment or procedure, we'll get in touch with you."

Many services are now open in hospital and alternative ways to see patients have been introduced, including video and telephone consultations where it is clinically appropriate to do so.

These measures help the hospital to provide the care needed by patients. By working in these new ways it is also helping staff to work through waiting lists as quickly as possible.

HOSPITAL: PLEASE BE PATIENT

Judy Dyos, also said:

"We want to thank everyone for their patience while our staff work hard to safely restore our services as we strive to provide the best possible care to all our patients."

"As is always our advice, if you feel that you are unwell, please call 111 or, in an emergency, call 999. If you think your condition is deteriorating, or you are experiencing increasing pain, please contact your GP."
