Elderly woman has jewellery stolen by 'charity workers' in Salisbury

The victim was targeted in the Waitrose car park

A woman in her 80s has had a necklace stolen in Salisbury, allegedly by women posing as charity workers.

The victim was approached in the Waitrose car park, on Churchill Way, at around 3.50pm on Wednesday (1st March).

The women has arrived in the car park in a black vehicle, driven by a man.

They told the victim they were collecting money for charity, and she gave them a small amount of cash.

One of the women then gave her a hug, which is when it's believed the necklace was taken - the victim didn't realise until later.

The suspects then walked towards the car park exit, and are thought to have been picked up again, by the man in the black vehicle.

Wiltshire Police are investigating and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
