A woman in her 80s has had cash stolen during a 'suspicious incident' in Amesbury's Tesco car park.

The victim was walking through the covered walkway, from the bus stop in London Road, at around 1.00pm yesterday (Thursday 2nd February) when two women approached here.

They asked for money for a charity raising money for deaf people.

The victim took out her purse and handed over £10.

The incident happened while the woman was walking through the covered area towards the supermarket

She began to feel uncomfortable when one of the women got very close to the elderly lady - and she stepped back.

But when she got home, she noticed £100 in cash was missing from her purse.

Wiltshire Police tell us the victim's been left 'upset and embarrassed' by what happened.

Description

The two female offenders involved are described as:

  • White
  • Aged in their late 20 to early 30s
  • Spoke with an Eastern European accent

Officers say they're now investigating the incident and want to hear from any witnesses.
