An eight year old girl had a stone thrown at her head while she was walking with her dad and younger siblings through the Cross Keys Shopping Centre in Salisbury.

At approximately 1pm on October 26th, she was walking past a group of teenagers, thought to be aged around 13-14.

One of the members of the group threw what is believed to have been a stone causing a bruise.

When the father challenged them, they walked off in separate directions.

Two of the youths – girls who were both wearing red jackets with shoulder length brown hair, walked off towards the market.

The young victim was left extremely upset by the incident.

Police say they'd like to hear from anyone who witnessed it.

Anyone who can help is being asked to contact 101 and quote crime reference number 54210104548.
