EIGHT new Coronavirus deaths confirmed at Salisbury District Hospital

It's the HIGHEST number in any reporting period

Latest figures show a further eight people have died with Covid-19 at Salisbury District Hospital.

A statement released by the hospital today (17th Jan) confirms five men and two women died on Saturday whilst revised figures for Friday show one more death recorded then.

That brings the total number of deaths after testing positive for Covid -19 to 117.

A Spokesperson from Salisbury District Hospital said:

"Sadly, we can confirm that a further eight patients who had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital and had tested positive for COVID-19 have died.

"5 men and 2 women died on 16th January and 1 man died on 15th January.

"Four of the men were in their 80s and two were in their 70s. One women was in her 80s and another in her 90s. All had underlying health conditions.

"Our thoughts and condolences are with all the patients families and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time."
