Eco Award for Wilton hair salon
JASHairGroup site recognised for managing its carbon footprint
The Wilton branch of local Hair & Beauty business, JASHairGroup, has been awarded its first 'Eco Award'.
The accolade was credited and presented by Managing Director Gareth Penn from 'The Good Salon Guide' whose role it is to professionally assess Salons Nationally against objective criteria, and rate them accordingly.
If a salon meets a set of minimum standards it is given a registered status and are then rated 3, 4 or 5 stars.
The group, which has salons based in Salisbury, Wilton and Parkwood Health Club, have for some time been an accredited Good Salon Guide 5 Star Salon including being accredited 5 Stars for its colouring services, its training and beauty services.
It's been 30 years since they opened their hair salon in Salisbury.
Owner, Jayne Prigent, told Greatest Hit Radio Salisbury:
"We have been a 5 Star salon for sometime and like the fact that we are professionally judged on our standards from outside, it helps to keep our service standards very high."
"The Eco Award is important to us and our guests as we are increasingly more conscious of our carbon footprint. We no longer display cut flowers, preferring potted plants, in our salons and we support local businesses such as Nunton Farm for our milk with reusable glass bottles and we purchase many products from Blueberry Den in Winchester Street."
"Our garden at our Salon in Wilton, where guests can sit out in, now has a compostable bin and flowers for attracting bees. Well done to the team at Wilton special thanks to Karin and Alice."
