A West Hampshire bird of prey centre has announced the arrival of a new chick at their Weyhill base.

The team at the Hawk Conservancy Trust took to Twitter over the Easter weekend, to let us all know that a white-backed vulture has hatched.

The chick was born on 30th March to parents Heshima and Ruaha.

The moment the little one arrived has also been captured on camera:

It's not the first white-backed vulture chick to have been born at the Hawk Conservancy.

Back in 2016, another little bird hatched there, and was believed to be the first time the species had successfully bred in captivity from birds flown in demonstrations.

White-backed vultures are an Endangered Species, with the charity working on conservation programmes in southern and eastern Africa and south Asia.
