During her visit to Salisbury on Thursday (14th September), Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Edinburgh visited other parts of the South Wiltshire community.

Sophie’s first stop was the Gul Outdoor Therapy Centre in Shrewton, while she also stopped off at Stable & Wick Barley and Farm shop in Downton later in the day.

During her time at the therapy centre, the Duchess learnt about the how the centre uses horses and other activities, including gardening and physiotherapy, to improve wellbeing.

The Duchess toured the site, meeting young people and adults who have benefited from the charity’s work.

Sophie then visited the City centre to unveil a plaque dedicating a tree in honour of inter-faith relations in the community alongside Salisbury Mayor Atiqul Hoque.

Her Royal Highness then visited Stable & Wick Barley and Farm shop, to her how agriculture, farming and environmental stewardship is working to meet the needs of the local community.

Here, children from Downton Primary School’s newly elected school council met the Duchess.

HRH spent time meeting each of the children, asking them about school life.
