Around £15,000 worth of cannabis has been been discovered at a premises in Cholderton.

A warrant saw officers search the property in the village on 29th April.

They seized a large quantity of cannabis, as well as various mobile phones and an iPad.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis and has since been released under investigation while our enquiries continue.

PC Juliet Cox, from the Amesbury Area Community Policing Team, said: "We know that our communities are concerned about drug dealing and we hope that this proactive work shows how seriously we take the matter.

"While some people may not believe cannabis to be a harmful drug, it is an illegal drug and can often act as a gateway drug drawing young or vulnerable people into further addiction.

"There is also the associated anti-social behaviour, nuisance and violence that comes with any kind of drugs activity, which we need to tackle.

"We would encourage anyone with information about drug dealing in their local area, to call the police."

You can report this by calling 101, or 999 in an emergency or if a crime is in progress.
