Drivers stopped in speed checks by Amesbury police
Officers have been out on the A338 and A342.
Amesbury Police carried out checks in Winterbourne Dauntsey, Tidworth and Ludgershall on Saturday (7th November).
We're told it was a successful day for them:
- 3 people spoken to about their speed at Winterbourne Dauntsey
- 3 people given words of advice in Tidworth
- 4 vehicles stopped and drivers spoken in Ludgershall
There were also 6 Traffic Offence Reports issued to drivers in Ludgershall.
They can be given out for a number of reasons, including driving without due care and attention, using a mobile phone while driving, vehicle defects, or driving without insurance, as well as speeding.
No further details have been released about the reasons for the tickets.
Anyone who's issued with a Traffic Offence Report can be ordered to take a speed awareness course, given points on their licence and a fine, and in serious cases, summonsed to court.
Amesbury Police say they'll be out again in local villages over the coming days.
