Amesbury Police carried out checks in Winterbourne Dauntsey, Tidworth and Ludgershall on Saturday (7th November).

We're told it was a successful day for them:

  • 3 people spoken to about their speed at Winterbourne Dauntsey
  • 3 people given words of advice in Tidworth
  • 4 vehicles stopped and drivers spoken in Ludgershall
Speed checks were carried out by police on the A342 at Ludgershall at the weekend

There were also 6 Traffic Offence Reports issued to drivers in Ludgershall.

They can be given out for a number of reasons, including driving without due care and attention, using a mobile phone while driving, vehicle defects, or driving without insurance, as well as speeding.

No further details have been released about the reasons for the tickets.

Anyone who's issued with a Traffic Offence Report can be ordered to take a speed awareness course, given points on their licence and a fine, and in serious cases, summonsed to court.

Amesbury Police say they'll be out again in local villages over the coming days.
