The speed enforcement checks were carried out earlier today (Tuesday 1st December) on the A354 through Coombe Bissett.

PC James Barrett issued three speeding tickets to drivers and gave another 6 'words of advice' about how fast they were travelling within just 30 minutes.

One of the drivers was found doing 49 miles per hour within a 30 zone.

The penalties for speeding can be a £100 fine and 3 points on your licence, or even a date in court.

There's also a warning to drivers that further speed checks will be carried out by police in the villages around South Wiltshire.

PC Barrett said:

"I can see you at over 400 meters away. I will see you before you see me even with a police car and all the reflective clothing so don't chance it. Please just slow down.

"Stay off the naughty list."
