A Wiltshire man has been banned from driving for a year after being caught 18.7 times over the legal MDMA limit.

Joseph Browne, 21, of Station Road in Royal Wootton Bassett, was stopped by police on A360 between Tilshead and Shrewton on 27th March 2021.

Officer pulled over his Vauxhall Insignia after the smell of cannabis was coming from his vehicle.

When they spoke to the driver they believed he was under the influence of drugs so conducted a roadside test.

This came back positive so he was arrested and taken to police custody, where a sample of his blood was taken for analysis.

This showed that Browne’s blood contained 18.7 times the legal amount on MDMA and 3.5 times the legal limit for cannabis.

He has now been disqualified from driving for a year and was fined £200.
