Downton man sentenced for driving whilst disqualified
He was caught by Fordingbridge Police officers
A man from Downton's been sentenced for driving whilst disqualified, having been spotted by police in Fordingbridge.
Officers seized the vehicle last September, with the driver summonsed to court.
They've now been given a 36 month ban from driving, given a 20 day rehabilitation order and will have to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.
He's also been ordered to pay costs and a victim surcharge.
The case has led to officers calling on people to 'rat on a rat' - reporting anyone we know if driving without a licence or insurance, or if they're impaired due to drink or drugs.
The Fordingbridge Police Facebook page says:
"Call confidentially with vehicle driver and location details, so we can target to make rural roads safe.
"Police and communities can work together to improve quality of life and safety for everyone."
