Police carried out a stop search on two men in Downton yesterday afternoon (Thursday 11 Feb) and managed to seize a catapult and some cannabis.

PRIME SUSPECTS

PC Matt Roberts had his attention drawn to the pair who were sitting in a stationary vehicle together in the Moot Lane car park (not the most subtle way of breaking lockdown rules).

When he approached them he smelled cannabis coming from the vehicle and searched them both.

DRUGS, CATAPULT & BALL BEARINGS

Cannabis was found on the driver of the vehicle, and a catapult was also found along with metal ball-bearings. PC Roberts is now investigating if any offences are connected to the items.

Wiltshire Police are continuing efforts to disrupt crime and antisocial behaviour in the rural parts of Salisbury. If you see anybody acting suspiciously then contact Police on 101, or dial 999 if it's an emergency.
