Amesbury photographer bringing back Doorstep Snaps
It's the fourth time Simon Ward will have run the fundraising initiative
An Amesbury photographer is hoping to get pictorial evidence of festive cheer once again this Christmas, in support of two local charities.
Simon Ward is set to run Doorstep Snaps part 4 from next week (Monday 21st November), following the success of the previous three editions.
The idea is simple - Simon comes to households, businesses or organisations and takes a picture on the doorstep, in return for donations to the Stars Appeal or Julia's House children's hospice (or both!).
He'll be out until December 23rd taking pictures, in the SP1 to SP7 postcodes, in Salisbury, Amesbury, Downton and the surrounding villages.
The scheme's also being expanded this time to include the SP10 and SP11 postcode areas, around Andover.
Christmas jumpers, lights and decorations are actively encouraged to give the images an extra festive feel.
Simon's raised over £5,000 for the two charities during the Doorstep Snaps campaign, which started in the first Covid-19 lockdown and continued through the pandemic and last Christmas.
That's broken down as £3,325 for the Stars Appeal at Salisbury District Hospital and £1,800 for Julia's House children's hospice.
He's hoping to break through the £6,000 total barrier this time, but has said that due to the cost-of-living crisis and money being tight for many, there's no minimum donation this time.
There's more information about the scheme, and details of how to sign up on Simon's website. |newtab)
