Wiltshire Police has received a number of reports about anti social behaviour and littering in Tidworth particularly on Drummer Lane outside the Paddington Play Station Nursery.

Staff there are regularly finding smashed glass, discarded beer bottles and fast food packaging scattered over the floor.

The force say anyone found during patrols to be discarding their rubbish in this way or pulling over bins to expose the content all over the ground as has been reported in other parts of the town will be dealt with appropriately by officers.

PCSO Catterick from the Tidworth neighbourhood team has this plea:

"This kind of behaviour in our town should not be happening, it is distressing for local residents and business owners who take it upon themselves to clean this mess up. Smashed bottles around the nursery also pose a very dangerous risk to the small children who attend the nursery on a daily basis. I ask anyone who uses these areas for recreation purposes to take some responsibility for their actions and ensure they are disposing of their rubbish in the correct way."

"Staff at the nursery on Drummer Lane have placed a plastic recycling tub outside for people to dispose of their bottles without smashing them on the ground as a short term solution. I would ask that this is used for that purpose only"

Staff at Paddington Play Station Nursery have put a box out to encourage people to dispose of glass bottles safely

Anyone experiencing anti-social behaviour of a similar nature, is urged to report it via 101 or alternatively online on the Wiltshire Police website.
