A new bit of sports equipment's appeared in Salisbury's Churchill Gardens.

The City Council's put up a Disc Golf basket at the park, as the sport's seeing more people taking part across the country.

In basic terms, Disc Golf is where you throw a frisbee, aiming towards the basket and score points for how many shots it takes you to get it in.

The parks team have put some instructions of how to play near to the basket itself

There's a choice of 'styles' to play there - putting or approach play, which vary in difficulty.

Salisbury City Council have told Greatest Hits Radio:

"We are delighted with the positive feedback the installation of the disc golf basket has already received. Disc golf is quickly growing in popularity and we installed it to provide a fun outdoor activity that can be enjoyed either on your own or with friends and family. Do come and give it a try when you are next visiting Churchill Gardens."

Churchill Gardens is home to a number of sports for Salisbury already, including a parkour gym, skate park, outdoor gym equipment and children's play equipment, as well as being the location for the city's parkrun events.
