Warning over leaving keys in ignition afer delivery van stolen in Test Valley

A delivery driver has had their van stolen in a West Hampshire village.

It happened around 1.25pm on Monday (5th December) in Over Wallop.

The white Mercedes van was stolen after it had been parked in Pound Road. Officers attended and later located the van in nearby Wallop Drive.

Hampshire Police say 'enquiries are ongoing'.

The force has issued tips on how to keep vehicles safe and secure including:

• Never leaving your keys in the ignition, even if you are away from your car for a short period of time

• Locking your vehicle when you leave it – this greatly reduces the possibility of it being targeted by an opportunist thief

• Manually checking your locks if you have used a key fob to lock your vehicle

• Investing in good in-car security locks, such as steering wheel locks
