COVID-19: Deaths up to 219 at Salisbury District Hospital

Salisbury District Hospital have confirmed that a further patient has passed away there, having tested positive for Covid-19.

This means the total number of fatalities is at 219 since the pandemic began.

A spokesperson for Salisbury District Hospital said:

“Sadly, we can confirm that a patient who had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital and had tested positive for COVID-19 died on Tuesday 7th September. The patient was in her 70s and had underlying health conditions.

219 patients in total have now passed away.

Our thoughts and condolences are with the patient’s family and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time.

There are currently 10 COVID-19 positive patients being treated at the hospital.

We would urge everyone to continue to take precautions to minimise the spread of the virus."

LATEST CASES

In the seven days to 2nd September, there have been 1,711 positive cases in Wiltshire.

That's an increase of 32 on the previous week.

This means the county's rolling rate per 100,000 population is at 339.4.

The national average is 317.
