Another person with Covid-19 has died at Salisbury District Hospital

It's the second death within three days

Salisbury District Hospital have confirmed that another patient with Covid-19 has passed away.

The woman, who was in her 70s and had underlying health conditions died on Monday (20th September).

It comes just two days after a woman in her 50s, also with underlying health conditions, passed away there.

The latest death, confirmed in a statement, brings the total number of victims at the hospital since the start of the pandemic to 221.

"Sadly, we can confirm that a patient who had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital and had tested positive for COVID-19 died on Monday 20th September. The patient was in her 70s and had underlying health conditions."

"Our thoughts and condolences are with the patient’s family and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time."

Meanwhile there are currently 9 COVID-19 positive patients being treated at the hospital.

Hospital bosses continue to stress the importance of taking precautions to minimise the spread of the virus.
