Dangerous cyclists in Salisbury warned of tough penalties
Cyclists have been ignoring Fisherton Street's one-way system
Cyclists in Salisbury are being warned that fixed penalty notices will be given to those caught cycling in the wrong direction on Fisherton Street.
The city centre street is currently the scene of significant road works and has a one-way system in place, bringing traffic into the city.
However, cyclists are travelling in the outbound direction, towards the train station.
Officers with Wiltshire Police went on patrols there yesterday (Thursday 30th November) and almost immediately stopped a commuter cycling in the wrong direction.
They're warning that fixed penalty notices will be handed out should this dangerous behaviour continue.
Cyclists are advised to use Crane Bridge Road, which adds less than a minute to their journey leaving the city.
