Cyclist injured in Tidworth 'hit and run'

The rider was knocked off his bike yesterday lunchtime

The incident happened close to the E tank crossing on Tidworth Road near Bulford Camp, at around 12.25pm on Wednesday (27th January), as the cyclist was riding towards Tidworth.

Near to the sharp left hand bend, the 19 year old rider's bike collided with a car, which didn't stop.

He suffered head, knee and foot injuries and had to be taken to hospital.

The car's described as being a silver saloon-type, which was also going in the direction of Tidworth.

The collision happened near to the bend at the E tank crossing, towards Tidworth

PC Gelu Danila, from the Amesbury Area Community Policing Team, said:

"We are appealing for any witnesses who saw either the cyclist or this car immediately before or after the collision happened.

"We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was driving along the road around the time and may have dash cam footage which could assist with our enquiries."
