Thousands of people are set to descend on Downton as its Cuckoo Fair returns for the first time since 2019 after the pandemic put paid to the much loved event.

Three hundred stalls offering everything from handmade crafts to locally produced gin!

The event also sees traditional maypole and Morris dancing and performances from Downton Community Choir and Primary School Choir.

It officially opens at 10am with the crowning of the cuckoo princess, this year that honour goes to teenager Olivia Wordley.

A procession will take place at 1045am from The Bull Hotel to the Maypole where the first of four performances from the Forest School of Dance takes place.

Downton Community Pre-School will be holding their Duck Race at 3pm, it's one of many local organisations that rely on the event to raise much needed funds.

You can find out more about the Cuckoo Fair, including details of parking, on the official website.
