Two injured after crash on A30 London Road in Salisbury
A man in his 80s and a woman in her 50s have been taken to hospital
A man in his 80s and a woman in her 50s have both suffered injuries after a crash involving two vehicles on the A30 London Road in Salisbury.
Emergency services were called to the scene between Bishopdown Farm Roundabout and Hampton Park Roundabout, just after 10am this morning.
Wiltshire Police confirmed the man and woman injured in the crash were the drivers:
“We were called at shortly after 10.05am this morning (09/01) to a two vehicle road traffic collision on London Road in Salisbury.
“Both drivers of the vehicles, a man in his 80s and a woman in her 50s, were taken to hospital with injuries.”
Fire crews from Salisbury responded to the incident and had to open up one of the vehicles with hydraulic cutting equipment, to rescue one of the drivers.
The second driver managed to free themselves before help arrived.
They have both been taken to Salisbury District Hospital by ambulance.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said:
"We were called to London Road, Salisbury at 10.11am this morning following a two vehicle road traffic collision.
"Two crews from Salisbury attended and one person was assisted from their vehicle with the use of hydraulic cutting equipment."
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said:
“We were called at 10.05hrs to a road traffic incident in Salisbury.
"We sent two double-crewed land ambulances and an operations officer and conveyed two patients to Salisbury District Hospital."
Wiltshire Police confirmed the two vehicles have been recovered from the road, and no traffic advice is in place at this time.
