Lucky escape for driver after car leaves A303 and ends up in a field

Emergency services were called to Chilmark Down yesterday

A man walked away uninjured after his car left the westbound section of the A303 ploughing into a field near Fonthill Bishop.

Police and a fire crew from Tisbury attended.

In a statement to Greatest Hits Radio Wiltshire Police said;

"Shortly before 2pm yesterday (16/05) we were called to a single-vehicle road traffic collision on the A303 close to Fonthill Bishop."

"The vehicle had left the carriageway and ended up in a field.

"Thankfully the male driver was not injured and did not require an ambulance."
