Covid-19: Another death recorded at Salisbury District Hospital

It takes the total to 66 since the pandemic began

It's been confirmed that a patient passed away at our hospital, having tested positive for Covid-19.

They died on Sunday (13th December).

Here's the statement from the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust:

"Sadly, a total of 66 patients who had tested positive for COVID-19 have died at Salisbury District Hospital.

"A man in his 90s, with pre-existing health conditions, died on 13th December 2020.

"Our thoughts and condolences are with the patient's family and loved ones at this difficult time."

It's the first death recorded at SDH in a patient who had Covid-19 in almost two weeks.

The last case was on December 1st.

CURRENT CASE NUMBERS

In the 7 days to the 9th of December, there were 335 confirmed cases of the virus in Wiltshire - a decrease of 54 on the previous seven days.

That gives the local authority a rolling seven day case rate per 100,000 people of 67.0.

This is still below the national average.
