Our thoughts are with their family and friends
Salisbury District Hospital have confirmed that one patient has passed away there, having tested positive for Covid-19.

A spokesperson for Salisbury District Hospital said:
"Sadly, we can confirm that a patient who had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital and had tested positive for COVID-19 died on Friday 23rd July. The patient was in his 80s and had underlying health conditions. 216 patients in total have now passed away.
“Our thoughts and condolences are with all the family and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time.
“There are currently 10 COVID-19 positive patients being treated at the hospital.
“Whilst the numbers remains relatively low compared to earlier in the year, we are seeing a steady rise in cases and sadly we continue to experience COVID related deaths. Therefore, despite restrictions easing across the country, we would ask that everyone remain cautious and act responsibly. It is by working together that we will be able to minimise the impact of COVID infections.
“The best protection is to have both two doses of the COVID vaccine, and we urge everyone to make an appointment or use a walk-in service as soon as possible."
