The Michael Herbert Memorial Hall is being used to administer the Covid-19 vaccine with the Pfizer jab being used.

That vaccine comes in a batch with 975 doses available.

It's the first community venue in the south of the county to vaccinate patients, until now only sites in the north of the county have been operating.

Michael Herbert Hall was the first vaccine centre opened in South Wiltshire

Salisbury District Hospital has also begun a vaccination programme for staff and care home colleagues as well over 80s.

The vaccinations took place in the hall

The jab will be distributed following a strick priority list set out by the Independent Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation.

6 - All individuals aged 16-64 with underlying health conditions which put them at higher risk of serious disease and mortality

Residents are also being urged not to contact their GP or Salisbury District Hospital to arrange an appointment but to wait to receive an inivitation.

For most people this will be a letter but you may also be contacted by email or by text message.
