Covid-19 death recorded at Salisbury District Hospital

Salisbury District Hospital have confirmed that a further patient has passed away there, having tested positive for Covid-19.
This means the total number of fatalities is at 218 since the pandemic began.
A spokesperson for Salisbury District Hospital said:
“Sadly, we can confirm that a patient who had been cared for at Salisbury District Hospital and had tested positive for COVID-19 died on Sunday 22nd August. The patient was in his 80s and had underlying health conditions.
218 patients in total have now passed away.
Our thoughts and condolences are with the patient’s family and loved ones at this very difficult and distressing time.
There are currently 12 COVID-19 positive patients being treated at the hospital.
We would urge everyone to continue to take precautions to minimise the spread of the virus"
LATEST CASES
In the seven days to 17th August, there have been 1,718 positive cases in Wiltshire.
That's an increase of 323 on the previous week.
This means the county's rolling rate per 100,000 population is at 340.8.
The national average is 320.5.
