Covid-19: 89 deaths now recorded at Salisbury District Hospital

The number of patients who have tested positive is also on the rise

Another three people have died at Salisbury District Hospital, having tested positive for Covid-19.

It takes the total number of deaths there since the pandemic began to 89, while the number of positive patients currently at the hospital has risen to 88.

One previously reported death has been removed from the hospital's reporting total.

A statement from the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust says:

“As of 08.15am today, there are 88 in patients who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Sadly a total of 89 patients who had tested positive for COVID-19 have died at Salisbury District Hospital.

A man in his eighties, with pre-existing health conditions, died on 07 January 2021.

A women in her seventies, with pre-existing health conditions, died on 07 January 2021.

A man in his sixties died on 07 January 2021.

Our thoughts and condolences are with the patients’ families and loved ones at this difficult time”.

CURRENT CASE NUMBERS

In the 7 days to the 2nd of January, there were 1,589 confirmed cases of the virus in Wiltshire, an increase of 759 on the previous week.

That gives the local authority a rolling seven day case rate per 100,000 people of 317.8.

The national average is 612.1.
