WALK-IN VACCINATIONS IN SALISBURY
Salisbury City Hall Vaccination Centre is now able to offer walk up COVID vaccination for anyone over 18 who needs their first or second jab.
The second jab will only be given if it is 8 weeks after the first dose.
The best times for the Pfizer vaccine are
- 8.30 -11.15
- 12.15 - 4.30
- 5.30 - 7.00pm
The Astra Zeneca vaccine for the over 40s is available throughout the day.
Vaccination Centre Director Fiona Hyett said:
"We are keen to vaccinate as many people as possible and are waiting to see you. But please don't try and get an early second dose, you really do need to wait the full eight weeks.
"The team at the City Hall will not provide a second dose unless it is eight weeks after the first - regardless of any special pleading. Turning up to try and get an early second dose will be a waste of everyone's time."
SOME CARE HOME STAFF NOT FULLY VACCINATED
Despite the success of the rollout, some staff at care homes in Wiltshire have not been fully vaccinated.
The figures show 4,075 out of 5,429 eligible staff, including agency workers, at older adult care homes had received two doses of a vaccine by July 4 - meaning 25% have not been fully vaccinated.
The Government plans to make the jab mandatory for staff over concerns for residents.
