The local authority wants to hear your thoughts on the cycle scheme through Brown Street and Exeter Street which was installed in September.

The temporary six month scheme is part of the Department for Transport's emergency active travel funding to encourage active and socially distanced travel

Due to it needing to be installed quickly the usual extensive consultation wasn't needed at the time.

One of the biggest areas for concern are the bollards on Exeter Street.

Wiltshire Council are keen to stress those barriers are there because the Government's infrastructure design states that "cyclists must be physically separated and protected from high volume motor traffic, both at junctions and on the stretches of road between them."

PROPOSED NEW CYCLE SCHEMES

Wiltshire Council has also been given £681,000 from the second round of government funding.

It was less than the local authority bid for so transport bosses need to work out which schemes to take forward and is again asking the public for feeback.

One of the schemes being considered is a permanent cycle path on Downton Road in Salisbury.

This shared-use cycle path will be created by widening into the verge.

It will connect to existing shared path facilities on New Bridge Road via very low traffic streets, where a 20mph zone will be introduced, to the Britford park and ride site.

How the new cycle lane in Salisbury might look.
