The Coldharbour Lane track in Salisbury will be closed off to vehicles for six weeks from today (Monday 20th May).

It's so the City Council can carry out 'necessary resurfacing work'.

They've described the track - which runs alongside Fisherton Recreation Ground and leads to allotments, Sarum St Pauls Primary School and the Riverside Tennis Club - as being in 'poor condition'.

The work's needed to make sure it remains accessible to vehicles in the future.

In a statement, Salisbury City Council said:

"We would like to apologies for the short notice period provided along with any inconvenience that this will cause during the closure. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer an alternative parking solution.

"The contractors have kindly agreed to allow vehicle access to the allotments and the tennis club between 4:30pm – 6:30pm Monday to Friday.

"Entry will be manned to limit use and people will be using the track at their own risk as the road surface will not be smooth."
