The track at Coldharbour Lane in Salisbury has fully reopened, following works to improve its surface and drainage.

As part of the Salisbury River Park scheme, the Environment Agency has been working since May to improve the track, to access the Coldharbour Lane Allotment and Fisherton Farm Allotment sites, as well as the Riverside Tennis Club.

It's been resurfaced and widened the track, defined parking spaces, and put in new drainage, which will help to combat flooding and water run-off, protecting the allotments.

Andy Wallis from the Environment Agency, and Salisbury River Park Project Lead, said:

“As part of the Salisbury River Park project the Environment Agency were pleased to work with Salisbury City Council to resurface Coldharbour Lane, which is adjacent to our main works.

“This has included widening the road, providing drainage and formalising the parking. There is still a line of bollards to install to ensure people do not drive onto the grass areas, which will be installed throughout August.”

Cllr Victoria Charleston, councillor for the St Paul’s Ward, said:

“I'm pleased to see the huge improvements to Coldharbour Lane and, once again, an example of the brilliant partnership work between the City Council, the Environment Agency, and their contractors. We're all looking forward to the work completing now and enjoying the River Park.”
