We might have only just started putting up the Christmas decorations for this year, but we're being asked to think about what you're going to do with your trees after it's over.

Salisbury Hospice Charity have once again launched their Christmas Tree collection scheme, which provides a helpful service for the community and raises some much needed funds for them.

People can sign up and are asked to make a donation to the charity in return.

Last year, more than 1,100 residents signed up however it was cancelled in January due to an increase in Covid-19 cases and lockdown.

The scheme's being expanded this time around as well, with collections taking place in SP1, SP2, SP3, SP4, SP5, SP6, SP9 and for the first time, SP7 postcodes.

The charity say it is an environmentally friendly way of disposing of your tree as they chip all of the trees and recycle them as animal bedding, or turn them into compost.

10% of the donations made will also be passed on to the Chilmark based Charity Serve On, which is a humanitarian response charity whose volunteers help communities in their hour of need.

Last years collection was cancelled due to Covid

You can register your tree to be collected between the 8th and 10th January 2022.

To sign up, visit their website or call 01722 416353 - with a closing date of 4th January 2022.
