Salisbury Christmas 2023 plans unveiled
The countdown to Christmas has begun
Salisbury’s Christmas plans have been revealed, with the city set to become the ‘City of Stars’ this festive period.
It all gets started on 17th November in the Market Place with Christmas Begins, an artisan market with Christmas gifts, fair rides, food and drink and a range of entertainment for us to enjoy.
From 26th November, the festive pop-up markets will be in the city, however they’re only open on Sundays (26th Nov, 3rd Dec, 10th Dec & 17th Dec).
The market place is also the venue for a community carol sing-a-along around the Christmas Tree with the Salvation Army Band on Christmas eve.
Santa Claus will be making an appearance ahead of the big day, stopping by at the Maltings Green Space where we can get a selfie with Santa and a North Pole Postcard experience, as well as a hear a festive story.
Demand to visit Santa is going to be high, so we need to book tickets to see the man in red through the Experience Salisbury website.
Our medieval streets will be adorned with ‘stellar’ installations, as we’re invited to follow a journey of sculpture and light on the Starlit Trail.
The trail is accessible to all ages and features opportunities for interaction, with families able to try the ‘Twelve Elves of Christmas’ trail, with proceeds going to the Stars Appeal.
And of course, we all want a little snow at Christmas time.
Thanks to Salisbury BID’s pop up snow machine, we won’t be disappointed but they haven’t revealed when and where the snow will fall just yet.
