The first plans for Salisbury's Christmas events in 2022 are starting to be revealed.

A 'Christmas Begins' is being put on by the City Council on Friday 18th November.

Although the full details are yet to be released, it has been announced that local band The Deloreons will take to the stage in the Market Place.

Salisbury hasn't had a 'traditional' Christmas light switch-on event since 2019, before the Covid pandemic.

A 'Christmas on the Square' event is also planned in the Guildhall Square, from Friday 18th November to Christmas Eve (Saturday 24th December).

That'll include the return of the popular Frost bar, which has been a regular fixture for the last few years.

Further details about what other activities might be included are yet to revealed.

Salisbury City Council has opened applications for fair rides, retail stall, performers and food and drink vendors to be involved in the events though.

Some Sunday Festive Markets are also expected to take place each week from 27th November to the 18th December too.
