Chilmark charity expecting Ukraine food support to continue for months

RE:ACT is asking for our help to provide food parcels

Six months from the start of the Ukraine conflict, a Chilmark based charity say they're still working hard to help people affected.

RE:ACT Disaster Response is sourcing and delivering food parcels, with a partner charity from Ukraine.

Paul Taylor is the International Operations Manager from RE:ACT and says it's been a tough. but essential, process:

"It is really difficult to reach people in need along the line of conflict, or into areas controlled by the Russian Federation. We've been running this particular phase of the operation for the last couple of months, and it's been really effective in getting food into the hands of people in need."

Going into the winter, the charity's looking for our support to keep the parcels going into Ukraine.

Each one costs £30, and contains enough supplies to feed a family for a week, or an individual for a month.

The packages are made up in Poland and then transported across the border for people in Ukraine, displaced by the Russian invasion.

Paul Taylor from RE:ACT says it's a critical time:

"We desperately need your support to keep this running and £30 will put food into the hands of people really in need."

RE:ACT is asking supporters to donate money towards more parcels of food to be created.
