Chilmark based search and rescue charity Serve On say they're monitoring the situation in Spain following devastating flooding there in recent days.

Flash flooding in the Valencia area has claimed the lives of more than 200 people.

Searches are still ongoing to find those missing, with fears the toll could rise further.

Divers are scouring underground car parks at a major shopping centre, where dozens may have lost their lives.

Serve On has been deployed to a number of international incident over the years, with skills in helping communities after natural disaters.

Their Director of Operations, Dan Cooke, has told us if they're likely to send a team to Spain:

"We are not now anticipating deploying, although we have partner teams already there. There are many many thousands of military and other resources being thrown at it, so while we haven't stood down yet, we're probably likely to.

"The Government there has put enormous number of personnel onto this at this point, but it is always frustrating to have the skills and not be able to bring them to bear."

Meanwhile, a red alert for heavy rain has been issued for Barcelona - with people being told not to travel unless it's absolutely necessary.
