It's hoped it will provide them with a bit of half term entertainment.

A new Halloween themed trail is being set up in Salisbury to get children exploring the city.

For just under two weeks from today (Monday 19th October) to the 1st of November, the Salisbury Pumpkin Hunt will be taking place.

It's a joint effort between Salisbury BID and the Salisbury branch of the National Childbirth Trust, which sees participants have to find the names of all 15 pumpkins that have been placed in shop windows as posters.

Any completed entry forms will be entered into a prize draw to win a ÂŁ20 Salisbury Gift Card and a book from the Rocketship Bookshop.

The BID hope that it will encourage people to get moving around the city and exploring areas they may not have seen before and also bring in additional spend to city centre businesses.

Jo Woodman, Volunteer Branch Coordinator of NCT Salisbury, said:

"With very few events and activities taking place this year, we're pleased to have teamed up with Salisbury BID to put on this safe and fun activity for children and families over the half term break.

NCT is the UK's leading charity for parents. In these tricky times we are still committed to making sure parents feel connected and supported. Find us online to see how we are providing local antenatal courses, a reliable up-to-date website, local online parent groups and our free NCT infant feeding support line."

The hunt is free, but people are being asked to make a donation to the charity if they take part.

You can download a map of the trail and find an entry form by visiting the Salisbury BID website.

Alternatively, they can be picked up from the Salisbury Information Centre on Fish Row.
