A fire near Salisbury Cathedral has reported no injuries and everyone accounted for.

The fire, which started in the basement of a property on The Close on Monday afternoon, was attended by four Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service crews.

The basement was being used as a laundry room, with a tumble dryer determined to be the cause of the accidental fire.

A pair of crews from Salisbury, along with a crew each from Wilton and Fordingbridge, were called to The Close around 4:45pm on Monday afternoon.

The blaze was extinguished with hose reel jets and contained to the affected basement.

The stop was at 5:38pm with no one hurt and all people accounted for.
