Emergency services were called out to an area of grassland near Castle Well Drive in Old Sarum at around 3.00pm yesterday (Sunday 6th December).

One fire crew from Salisbury found an abandoned caravan alight, which was destroyed.

No-one was in the caravan at the time time.

Police now tell us initial investigations suggest the fire may have been started deliberately.

There's now an appeal for information, with anyone who might have seen what happened asked to get in touch with officers.

You can contact them on 101, quoting crime reference number 54200121028.
