Data from the Automated number plate camera (ANPR) in a police car showed the Nisssan X Trail's MOT had expired in 2018.

Officers seized the vehicle in Upavon and it's now prohibited from going back on the road.

The male driver now faces a day in court and could be fined over £500 as well as getting points on his license.

Wiltshire Police warn officers can also seize untaxed vehicles from the county's roads as a result of taking 'Devolved Powers' from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA).

The message from the force is "Tax it, Insure it or Lose it."
