Car and house windows damaged in spate of criminal damage in Downton

Wiltshire Police have now issued an appeal for information

The force have been made aware of a number incidents overnight yesterday (Tuesday 9th February) in The Borough area of Downton.

These include the smashing of a window of a blue Hyundai Tucson, which was parked in the area at around 8pm.

Shortly after this, police received a report of a house having a glass window cracked.

The incident happened in The Borough incident in the village

They are now urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch with them.

PC James Barrett, from the Salisbury Area Community Policing Team, said:

"At this stage of our enquiries we believe the damage has been caused by somebody firing ball bearings from a moving vehicle.

We are urging any witnesses, including anyone who may have dash cam footage or private CCTV footage to get in touch.

We're keen to hear from anyone who was in the area near the Co-op or The Borough between 8pm and 8.20pm last night."
