20 South Wiltshire pubs voted into 2024 edition of Good Beer Guide
Next year's guide features an Iron Maiden inspired cover
20 pubs from Salisbury and South Wiltshire will feature in the 2024 edition of Good Beer Guide published by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
CAMRA members with personal experience of pubs in the South Wiltshire area selected the pubs that appear in the guide.
One of those is Upper Woodford's The Bridge Inn.
Upon being presented with the Good Beer Guide certificate, Landlady Lorna Janse van Vuuren said she was delighted to be voted into the guide for the first time since taking over.
“We work hard at keeping our beers well and people come in here and say that they can really taste the difference.”
After visiting from South Africa in 1992, Lorna and her Husband Tom made Upper Woodford their home before taking over the pub in 2019.
Their daughter, Emma, played a key role in their decision to assume ownership of the pub, having worked their during her gap year.
Salisbury and South Wilts CAMRA chairman, Chris White, who presented the certificate, said: “We are lucky to have so many good pubs in this area and inclusion in the Good Beer Guide is high praise for the very best of them. The Bridge Inn is a wonderful local with well-kept real ales and excellent food.”
The list of South Wiltshire pubs to have been included can be found in the Good Beer Guide, which features a front cover of heavy metal band Iron Maiden mascot, Eddie.
