Three visitors to Salisbury Cathedral got the hump yesterday (Thursday 9th December), but not because they were disappointed by what they saw.

Three camels took a look around the historical building, as they prepare to take part in it's Christmas Eve service.

The camels took in their surroundings a couple of weeks ago

It was a little rehearsal for the animals, to mainly see if they could fit through the doorways!

They were provided by Lady Chichester, who looks after the animals in Little Durnford.

The camels met some members of the public while on their walk around

On Christmas Eve, Timujin, Lena and Ivan will be there for the family service at 3:30pm which will also include giant puppets and a real life donkey.

During the actual service, the puppets, camels and donkey will make their way up and down the Cathedral aisles and the nave, creatively re-imagining the story of the Nativity for the children.

People have to pre-book for the Xmas eve service and can do so by going to the Cathedral website.
