Salisbury restaurant closing down
End of the road for Cactus Jacks
One of Salisbury's independent restaurants, that's been trading for more than 20 years, closes for the last time this weekend.
The Tex-mex restaurant, Cactus Jacks, on Water Lane, announced its decision on Facebook last month, saying it was made with a 'heavy heart'.
Their Facebook post on February 18th 2022 said:
"Storm Eunice has got us thinking about the winds of change that are coming up for Cactus Jacks Salisbury….it is with a heavy heart that we are opening and closing our doors for the last time on Saturday 2nd April 2022. "
"We will be open (despite the weather) every Friday and Saturday night for all the Mexican food and some delicious cocktails through February and March. So please make sure you pop in and say goodbye before then, we thank you as always for your continued support"
Just a year ago, in April 2021, during the pandemic, as lockdown was extended, and hospitality venues were forced to remain closed, Cactus Jacks appeared to be determined they would survive and pull through. But nearly 12 months on, and despite the harsh lockdown being over, they've decided to close.
The restaurant premises looks set to be used to expand Fisherton Antiques, which is right next door.
