Bulford drink driver banned from the roads for two years
He was arrested earlier this month
A man from Bulford has been given a fine and a two year driving ban after being found over the limit behind the wheel.
Benjamin Stickland, 37, was arrested in the early hours of 6th January after police were called to a report of someone driving while intoxicated in Rawlinson Road.
Officers conducted a roadside breathalyser test, and Stickland recorded 101 micrograms per 100 millilitres, almost three times the legal limit of 35.
He pleaded guilty to drink driving and was handed a £1,230 and disqualified from driving for two years.
PC Rachel Avery, from Amesbury Community Policing Team, said:
“We are continuously trying to educate the public about the very real dangers of drink driving and even ran a widely-publicised campaign in the build up to Christmas.
“Those who get behind the wheel while intoxicated, either through alcohol or drugs, not only pose a risk to themselves but also to other road users.
“We hope this proves that we do respond to reports of drink driving and we will use the powers given to us to ensure those who commit offences face justice.”
To report suspected drug or drink driving, call 101 or, in an emergency, call 999.
