Salisbury's got a new building society from today (Monday 3rd April).

Yorkshire Building Society has put together a new agency with St Barts Finance Ltd, who already operate agencies with the mutual in Bournemouth and Southampton.

They've taken on the unit that was Bohemia on Oatmeal Row, next to the Poultry Cross.

Lauren Selby, manager of the Salisbury Yorkshire Building Society agency, said:

“We’re really excited to be opening our doors in Salisbury and look forward to helping people save for what’s important to them and to support them in buying their own home.

“The welcome event will be a great opportunity for us to meet people in the community, and for them to pick up a goody bag, enjoy some refreshments and have a chance to win some money in a new savings account. We’d love people to pop in to say hello and can’t wait to meet new and existing customers.”

That event's being held on Monday 17th April between 10.00am and 2.00pm, at the premises on Oatmeal Row.

Steve Bartholomew, managing director of St Barts Finance Ltd, said:

“It’s our absolute pleasure to open a brand-new Yorkshire Building Society agency in Salisbury.

“Yorkshire Building Society has recently been crowned High Street Provider of the Year for both mortgages and savings and we’re delighted to work hand-in-hand with them. We have already been successfully running the Bournemouth and Southampton agencies for several years, and adding another in a new location fits perfectly with our own ethos of putting financial services back on the high street.”
